XK 120 Tool Roll and Chassis Number Info Wanted

If you have an XK 120 tool roll, any condition, and it is original to your XK 120, Roger Payne and Steve Kennedy would like to hear from you. We are working on an upcoming book about Jaguar Tools. So far our research has uncovered three main different types of XK 120 tool rolls, and a possible fourth type. The orange/tan roll, the green roll with no lining, and the black roll with black or no lining (or possibly white lining). What we donÔÇÖt know is exactly when the various types of tool rolls were supplied during the XK120ÔÇÖs production run.

What we need is a photo of your tool roll if possible, and your associated chassis number, (and date-of-manufacture, not date sold if you know it), for your XK 120. We have heard from Tadek in Poland with his 14 December, 1953 LHD OTS, 674460. It has the black/black tool roll. We are looking forward to hearing from anyone else with an original tool roll, any condition, for their XK 120 and the chassis number. We really need the chassis number to help narrow down the date-of-manufacture dates.

The more responses we get, the more confident we can quote and narrow down a demarcation date.
