Need advice on what to do before starting my 94 XJS v12 (69k miles)
that hasn't been moved or started for about 7-8 months. I should
be back home in late Jan but the last time I was home (Aug 06) the
battery had died so I haven't started it or moved it since then. I
did have the Sta Bil in the gas tank but not sure about that or the
oil/other fluids or starting precautions and I don't want to damage
anything when I get the new battery. Any advice is appreciated.
thanks

Hi ,
that is not a really long time, however you could do the following, ( my suggestions )firstly remove the fuel pump relay, which should make the pump inactive. Then simply turn the engine over for about five or six seconds, this should develop oil pressure and the oil light should go out on the dash signifying the oil pressure is up. Possibly you could do this three or four times. Then put the relay back into action and start the car.I guess you have the great 6.0 litre engine, lucky guy,
