What is the last year of XJS Coupe production? 1995 or 1996?
I am looking for a last year coupe with the inline 6.

There was actually TWO coupes made in 1996. The one that is in the Heritage Museum and another (blue) that was made for a Ford executive. That one surfaced in Dallas this year at a dealership (trade-in). They didn't know what they had and I was trying to buy it. Unfortunately, there was a shake-up at the dealership (general manager was fired) and a lot of confusion followed. In the confusion, they messed up my offer to buy and it was sold to someone in New York. Bummer.

1996 XJS
With the introduction of the 1996 XJS on 4 OCTOBER, 1995, this model begins to pass into history. The XJS is produced mainly in the convertible 2+2 model with the 4.0 litre, 6-cylinder AJ16 engine. The XJS Coup?® is discontinued for the USA market, however it is available by special order in other markets. Jaguar also announces that it will drop the V12 engine from the USA market.

MECHANICAL
The fuel injected AJ16 dual-overhead-camshaft 24-valve, 6-cylinder engine, with its magnesium coloured component cover, has palladium rhodium catalyst that improves emission and system durability. The ZF four-speed automatic transmission is offered with the Normal/Sport mode gear selection.

The XJS was discontinued 4 APRIL, 1996. The last two cars, a Signal Red 6-cylinder convertible and an Ice Blue V12 coup?®, are retained by the Jaguar-Daimler Heritage Trust Collection at the Company Museum at Browns Lane.
