I was driving my 1993 XJ6 and stopped at traffic lights. CD went off and I noticed it had stopped. I put the car into PARK and tried to start it again but nothing happens. The dash lights (oil/battery) etc stay off (although hazards and headlights etc) work fine. I cannot get the car out of Park.
I wound up having it lifted onto a low loader and towed to my office where it now sits. Only bought it yesterday and it ran beautifully - until it just stopped. There were no warnings on the dash, no noises, no smoke or flames, it just stopped.
Anybody have any idea where I should start looking? When I turn the ignition key there isn't even a "click" - seems almost as if no power is reaching the starter circuits. Disabled the alarm and engine immobiliser and the result is the same - my beautiful new cat won't go :-(
