The transmissions on the X308 (both XJ8 and XJR) are supposedly "sealed for life" units (not serviceable via changing transmission fluid). As a prospective buyer of an XJR, should I avoid one that has had the transmission fluid changed -- I'm wondering what the negative consequences, if any, might be down the road, even if it's we assume that the fluid change was done under the most "ideal" circumstances (e.g., someone holds a gun to the head of a highly trained Jag. mechanic and forces him to change the fluid, using the correct fluid). Apparently the transmission fluid on this car was changed about 6 years ago (about 40K miles ago), and the car drives/shifts OK at present. Any thoughts? Thanks.
