Thomas - whoops, wish I read that note the night before last! Actually, everything is okay - the rubber was so cracked and mushy that the chrome came out easily + even though I didn't cut I also didn't pull all from one end...I lifted little by little. The only place where I probably have some bending is on the windscreen bottom chrome, but it was already bowed out by the household caulk put there years ago to protect it. It was messy but it sure protected the interior from water penetration though bad rubber.
In other words, finally got the rubber replaced...front and rear. Rubber purchased from SNG & local mobile window guy (recommended by local jag expert) came and did the job. Very satisfied. Hope David has a similar experience with his replacement.
