Hello all. Check engine light is on. Verified as much as easily possible (gas cap, ignition wiring, catalytic converter, etc. Down to need to replace something. First up -- Oxygen Sensor. Where is it located? Is this difficult to replace. 1995 XJS Convertible, 4.0 Engine.

Careful Robert, you might bite off more than you think. Your car has FOUR oxygen sensors of the titanium dioxide type. They are both fragile, and expensive. Last one I priced, I think was north of $500! You really need to have someone with the proper equipment interrogate the system and see what the fault is. There are dozens of things that can turn your Check Engine light. There just isn't any way to 'guess' what the cause may be.

Cheers,
Steve

Hi Steve, I was hoping to hear from you for my latest post as I'm sure you'll have the answer, I want to change my fan shroud for one with the air flaps rebuilt, if i undo the bolts holding the fan and clutch to the water pump flange does that give clearance to lift the shroud out? or is more involved? Thanks Ian Grant is.grant@ieee.org
