George and Steven:
Thanks so much for your advice and guidance. I live in a small town in North Carolina [New Bern]and the closest Jaguar dealer is a couple of hundred miles away [Cary, NC]. Next week I'll check with our local mechanic and another tire dealer and ask that they check out the problem as you have suggested. If they are unable to help, maybe I'll just take a few days off and drive to the dealership.

Steven, if this is a driveline problem, is it something that will get progressively worse? That is, will it hurt to drive the car for a few hundred miles or for continued use?

Thanks again for your help.
