Not sure if anyone has seen this before.
Took off my dash pad today on my 69 ser. 2.
The dash to my knowledge is original
Found a hand drawn British Flag in red and blue marker
it was faded with age. has anyone seen this before?
Looks like it came from the factory.

It was not uncommon for workers at Browns Lane to do odd/funny/stupid things to cars on the assembly line. Sometimes they were not very nice things including disposing of lunch remains or food items behind the door panels. Also, when the line stopped for whatever reason, there was nothing else to do, so some people became artistic! Friday afternoon cars were well known to be problamatic.

Hi George,
I looked at it again, it does look like crayon, its faded (significantly) but you can see an English Flag clearly enough.
What a great message from the past!

Mark Markings from factory workers are common but usually they relate to the assembly process (serial numbers etc.). Initials are also seen along with an occasional "doodle". Every marking I have seen has been in wax crayon or pencil--never seen marker or anything used that would leave a perm. mark.
