Trunk Release

Can't get trunk to open. Release button not working. Neither key, nor door controls seem to correct the problem.
Button, when depressed, goes all the way in, no resistance. So apparently it is not engaging the release linkage in the trunk.

Has worked fine all along until yesterday. No warning.
