Wow - looks like you're hitting the nail right on the head. I've seen that the coil is a bit notorious for overheating and mine is a little worse for wear on one of the contacts. Not an expensive part so the common solution of "buy a new part" looks like it will help.

I had noticed on the internet that lots of folks have their coil mounted behind the radiator instead of behind the carburetors. Makes sense from a heat perspective. I never thought much about it but did wonder about the different placement. I saw some chatter on another random website of a "coil relocation kit" but the good folks at SNG Barratt that I usually talk to are unaware of this + it doesn't look like the new location would require anything more than a different kind of bracket. Thoughts on relocating my new coil when it comes? Thanks again!
