I'm looking to replace 4 or 5 OE Michelin Redline radial tires (185-15). I've looked at Croker tires, does anyone have any other suggestions/experience with other brands?

Have a set of 4 185HR15 Vredestein Sprint Classic Blackwalls with less than 200 miles. I'm replacing them with Dunlop SP radials. They drive very well, but I like the appearance of the Dunlops much better.

I agree with Jason, for 5 inch rims, which I have. A previous owner put 205x15x70 tires on the car and I did not like the ride at all. The car seemed to wander and the steering was way too heavy. After switching to Vredestein 185HR15 last year the ride is perfect. I believe that 6 inch rims would cope with 205x70 tires tho the steering may still be heavy at slow speeds. My opinion for what it's worth

I just went through this with my 69. Original tires were 185VR15 SP SportÔÇÖs. (Dunlop)

Universal tire (Link below) has the Dunlop but were too rich for my blood so I got the "185HR15 Vredestein Sprint Classic Blackwall Tire" There are lots and lots of internet opinions about which tires are right or are not and it is hard to sort through. My 2 cents is that I wanted the car to have the original profile which I believe only the Dunlop and Vredestein will do. Good luck!

Craig, Dunlop 185 15 SP tires were OE on your car. Drop the glove box lid down and there is a plaque with the data. The Dunlops are still available and as they were designed with Jaguar for the S2 (as well as the straight spoke wheels) I doubt you can do better and in all my years with these wonderful cars I have not.

Remember, according to JCNA rulebook, redline tires were never factory equipment on E Types and merit a deduction.

That said I run 205/15 Michelin's on my E Type and have for serveral years. Only if I crank the wheel to the lock will it rub a little.
