Well I guess one would assume with an older car such as mine that budget is an issue ...allthough not entirly true.I am considering a new rebuild that will put me back about 12k.This is with some of the performance options that I spoke of having interest in.I will keep you up to date as to how it progresses. The other options(recomended) are also something that I want to incorperate aswell in this project. There is a guy here locally that i found that builds these motors and has a real passion for the xjs's some producing an upwards of 700+ pony's. Although He has these modifications for closer to 25k (not in my budget).
I really like these cars and just bought my 3rd one this month i am hoping to make a little money on the cars.It seems these cars still draw alot of attention and co-workers are always asking what they can get one for? I plan to sell these other 2 for roughly 5 (an 89 with 84k & 86 with 70k)and use the money for my project.I have already spent 4 thousnad on new paint and am nursing the tired motor of 211k miles along until I can kick off the rebuild.I have seen some of the Pic's and articals on art's car (pretty inspiring).Whatever I find if nething of real value I will pass on to this forum. Thanks for all the feed back and I will post some pics soon.

Shihan,
I don't mean to rain on your parade, but before you go and spend 12 grand on a car with 211K miles on it, reconsider. For what you could sell all three cars for, plus a few bucks, you could buy ONE really good car. $12K to $15K should find you a very good, very clean, low mileage car in very good condition (a coupe) or a very nice, well maintained convertible. While I defended your right to do as you wish with the car, I hate to see you throw money into a car that you will never recover.
XJS's are at the low end of their curve right now. If it were me, I'd sell all three of them and look for one really, really nice car. Old, high mileage cars will not appreciate in value. A low mileage, perfectly maintained car may, in years to come. A "bodged" car (heavily modified with non-stock items) or a lump (Jaguar with a non-Jaguar engine) will not. IMHO.
As they say, "You payz yur money, you takez yur choice."
