Hello, all. Newbie here, looking forward to learning from you all.

1968 USA OTS LHD. Need to replace lower u-joint in lower steering column. Bentley's manual makes it sound very involved -- remove bonnet, drop column inside cockpit, etc. I have the new joint. Can you advise if there's a reasonably easy way to access and replace this joint?

Many thanks and cheers,

Dick

Thanks much for kind and prompt reply, George. I'll remove upper column, then lower, and if any noticeable play in the upper joint I'll replace that one as well.

Not a member of a Jaguar club at this time; just a lurker...

Thanks again for the help.

Dick I think if you simply "OPEN" the bonnet and then remove the column you will be on track. You must remove the upper column and then you can extract the lower--but why not replace both the upper and lower U-joints while it is out? Dick are you a JCNA member--if so sign in with your club or are you a member at large?
