I am thinking of purchasing a 1973 roadster which has not run for 14 years. I understand there may be some problems with the rear engine oil seal drying and causing leaks as well as damage to the crankshaft. It there anything to do before starting the engine to avoid this problem?
On another note, can anyone give me a ball park value on a 1973 rust free roadster with about 30K (documented) miles on it. The paint is dull but all the rest of the car looks ok. I do not know the condition of the engine since it is a non-runner due to gummed up carbs.
Cheers, Hugh Pite
