The ignition switch and white wiring to the "inductive" pick-up on the back of the tach on my '68 E-Type shorted and fried itself. I have replaced the ignition switch and re-wired the tach harness. Everything works now except the tach. The plastic piece that it appears the wire looped thru and fits under the screwed on tach pick-up was also damaged. I am guessing I either need that piece to correctly orient the wiring to the pick-up or that the white wire is not just a single wire looped thru that plastic piece. Anyone know where I can get one of these harnesses without buying a whole dash harness or how I SHOULD have re-wired it ? I guess the tach could have also been damaged when this happened but Since the white wire does not make a direct connection to it I am assuming it was not damaged. This car has the Seies II type tach/dash (no tach gen. on back of cam).
