Can S2 seats be mounted in an S1 4.2 car? The reclining mechanism on the S2 seems better than S1 4.2, but I understand there was a change to the central tunnel for S2's to clear the seatback adjuster.
Also, would I need the complete S2 seats (back & bottom)? Or can you put S2 seat backs on S1 (4.2) seat bottoms?

I purchased my 4.2 S1 8 years ago and the previous owner had installed S2 seats. I'm doing a concours restoration so they had to go. The seat hinge covers chewed up the leather on the center console and the interior rocker panel. The movement of the seat was also restricted. So to answer your question they will fit, but will probably inflict some damage.
