I have been giving the new proposed classification rule changes considerable though, and was remined of the following past experience.
Several years ago I entered my Rolls Royce in an "All British" car show in a very large metropolitan city. The classes were somewhat differant from those of JCNA, there were no "C" or "D" classes, all cars of the same "classification" were lumped together. My car was put in the "Empire Saloon" class. No, I did not win, the car that won was "as new", it did not look as though it had ever been driven and deserved to win, where as my car is my daily driver. The car that won first in the "Empire Saloon" class, was a Trimph Herald. Which brings me back to the point of this little story, "classification" of cars. Prehaps it is time for those responsible for the "JCNA Concours Rules" to consider a complete and comprehensive review of the classifications, and to preclude the appearance of any personal prejudices the full membership should be polled for their input, with the final draft presented to the membership, through each individual club, for the clubs suggestions and approval, before being adopted.
After all, isn't the club for the membership, and shouldn't the clubs "Directors" be responsive to the membership ?? Aren't they elected by to serve membership ?? The word is spelled "Directors" and not "Dictators".

many if not most British car show are judged with different criterias, less emphasis on originality or even often by popular vote.
I think that the concours Rule com. has reviewed classes and proposed quite a few things. It has been out for a few weeks now giving members an opportunity to review the proposed changes, give their opinion and approve or reject them by instructing their club AGM delegates to vote accordingly.
Isn't that exactly what you are suggesting?
not sure where you get this dictatorship thing from but afaik no rules change go into effect without being approved at the AGM byt the MEMBERS delegates.
