The later XJS is a 2.88 ratio up to 1993 then it went to a 3.54. If this is dangerous, then why recommend it? I have changed numerous E-Types to the 2.88 ratio and they drive just fine if properly tuned. After a while, you don't even notice it. There is hardly any noticeable difference between a 2.88 and a 3.07 except in your wallet. Rarity cost more. The 2.88 ratio diffs are readily available, the 3.07 are rare. A 3.08 are extremely rare.
