I can't find an explanation in the manual as to what this is-does. Sets next to the brake fluid bottles.

Yes, the car has factory AC which we are in the process of updating with a new system from retro air.

The resister block you picture hooks up to the heater motor when you fit it. Of the two relays, one is the horn the other is for the alternator circuit. Does the car have factory AC?

Also, here are two relay's below the battery box. The upper is horn relay, the bottom has two wires that are not attached, one brown-white and one solid white --what is the function of this relay?

Like William said the lower relay is for the Altenator. I just traced my system out due to poor charging. If you have an original or reproduction owners manual there should be a real good wiring diagram in it. If not, get one. The wiring on your car looks real good so should be easy to trace out. Take the relay off without removing the wires and the letter system on the back will be visible. Check the color coding for correct hook up. If all poles are wired you probably have a never aftermarket harness that can be used for newer model cars that may have additional options. If you are charging O K then don't worry about it.
