Doug, You really don't have to do it, but if it makes you happy, go ahead. Ive upgraded ALL my fuel lines to injector rubber only, The diaphrams for the pumps ,carbs and all the rest have been upgraded to new material the JOE CURTO has made.
My 1966 corvette 327/300 horse 4 barrel would run fine, then the float itself on those 650 carbs would dissolve drop and bog the car to a halt.
Could be me, all my cars as most have seen are 1 drivers or concours quality.
I never cheap out, I drive my ETYPE to Carlisle for the Import show from Ny, every year 600 miles round trip in 48 hours, Daytona 500 , Indy 500 all from New York, once sorted Ive never had a problem.
I don't think on this one Im in the minority, p.s. my snow blower was the same, brand new, sat without additive for 6 months, it was like sludge goo on the bottom. Maybe its me.
Instead of all this back and forth , if people just drive the cars, all will be alright......
Now enjoy the day young man.
