Started my 1970 E type today. Accidently held the ignition switch over for a second or two too long. Heard the typical grinding/staticy noise that goes along with doing this. Car ran fine, though. Turned it off then tried to start it. No good. Heard a sound similar to the grinding static, but with more "buzz. Radio and lights all work.
Was on a hill, and was able to start the car by rolling and popping the clutch.
Did I kill my starter by doing this?? Any ideas, diagnosis, help, much appreciated. I am in over my head with this problem.
