I must agree with GT Joey, The three SU's make a huge increase in power. When I bought my Etype I was going to buy a 69' that was nice and $2000 less than a 66' also for sale at the same place. I drove both and no compareson as the S1 was so much faster. Later I did headers and big bore exhaust, petronix distributer and finaly pulled that restrictive air cleaner off. Installed basket air cleaners and got help from Joe Curto for the new richer jets.
6 second 0 to 60 and smoth at all speeds. 3 Trophy's at Concours in driven class ( the judge would slap me if he saw the engine ) and I don't care a whit about less gas milage. The old girl is a hoot to drive and as I've kept all the parts would be a snap to take it back to just a quick stock car. I used to build hot rods in the mid 50's and leave it stock if I can make it go faster.
