Hi Tyson,
Good to hear you made it to talk to Steve. I'm in Concord.

Hey Jim,
Just thought I'd let you know I finally got over to Vintage Auto in Oakland. Steve knows e-types as well as XK's remarkably well. Good luck with your S1. Are you in the city?

Uhhh. Yea. That definitely sounds like he has a modicum of knowledge!
BTW Ron- I found some pictures of you and your Hagemann at Laguna. What a beautiful car! I have a buddy (Jay Street) that races there and also commented on how nice it is in person.

Re.: San Francisco/ Bay Area XKE Mechanic
Tyson,
Steve is the most knowledgeable E-Type expert I know. In 2011, he restored my 61 OTS which then won the E-Type 50th Anniversary class at the Quail Motorsports event.

Re.: San Francisco/ Bay Area XKE Mechanic
Jim- early stages but I spoke with Steve at Vintage in Oakland and made an aptt. (He was closer than Hill Motors). Sounded very knowledgeable RE XKE's...

Timely response. I was about to ask the same question. My 62 E Roadster has been holding down the garage floor for too long. Needs rear end rebuilt and brakes done. Should at least sputter around the block.

All: I am getting ready to sell my 1966 E-Type Coupe after owning it since 1976. I want to have the car looked over before I sell it so the new purchaser understands what they are purchasing.
It smokes when first started if it sits for three or four months and cold started. Blue smoke. Then when it clears up it’s fine. Weekly even monthly not a real issue. But when sitting month after month is smokes.
