Ernest, if you are up to it, the 3M product #08752 is the adhesive you need to re-adhere the mirror or the rear brake light to the glass. It is tedious, and the directions must be followed closely. Sparing use of the adhesive after the activator is the key; this is definitely a case where more is not better.
For the rear brake light, the spacing of the two attachments is critical, otherwise the light won't fit down over them correctly.

Please let me offer a bit of perspective about the dealerships and what vehicles they do or do not take in. Dealers have to make a business decision regarding that, and circumstances for each dealer vary greatly. Consider that not everyone who drives a 16 year old Jaguar is a JCNA Club Member, or reveres their Jaguar like we do. The average third, fourth or fifth owner of a Jaguar is little different than the third, fourth or fifth owner of a Chevy. They likely are not as concerned about proper repair parts or methods as they are some cheaper, patch-work sort of make-it-work repair. Then when it doesn't hold up, they are back on your service drive screaming that they want their car "fixed right". Market area is also a factor. Some high volume markets are so busy taking care of the current models and warranty repairs that they are not really in a position to take on some of the older models. It is just the reality in this day and age of JD Power etc., where they are under so much pressure for service and quality surveys and the like. Unfortunately, these pressures are very real and very serious to a dealers bottom line.
Then there is the the possibility that attrition has left a dealer without an old timer like me on the staff. In which case YOU could be better off if they turned you away, rather than trust your kitty to someone who has little experience with it.

Just my two cents......
