I believe it is a slalom masters job to determine an entrants prowess to drive in a JCNA slalom....perhaps a medical assessment of elderly participants is neccessary . A co driver could also be assigned to ride and guide , and could possibly help in an emergency.... A general waiver for spectators also is a good idea for sure....I have heard however that a good lawyer can beat almost any waiver signed. if that is so why do we have them... I imagine the ins co. mandates this aspect..though I could be wrong...
I also am a firm believer in helping people become familiarized with the JCNA course, and no newcomer ever goes around the course without being given instruction by an experienced driver , for several laps for sure... Perhaps some kind of driving test should be taken for really elderly people for sure....lol I am almost seventy.... A slalom Master must also keep entrants in line.... anyone driving a little off gets a mention that we only have insurance for low speed slalom ....we are not a drift club etc.... and persons may be excluded for not adhering to our instructions. Smile only when it is neccessary....
