Hello all,

Can anyone recommend a competent shop in the Northeast, the closer to NYC the better, that can do a valve job for a 1965 Series 1 4.2 head?

We're already know of Donovan and Bassett. Are these the best? Are there better? Are there others?

Thanks!

Ian,

Obviously, Donovan knows how to put together race cars -- they do the Jaguar Select Edition E-types. Nice cars. Bill Bassett does nice work as well -- just look at the car he put together for his wife Joei and you'll be extremely impressed. Brian Maletsky at Motorcraft in East Rutherford, NJ has lots of experience with E-types and racing, and campaigns his own XK120, a car that he has highly modified. Another guy you might consider is Terry Lippincott at Lippincott's Garage, Sinking Spring, PA. He races a modifed E-type as well and does all the work on his own cars, from building race engines to body to suspension, etc.

So you have a few good choices.
