Just following you flow engineers with this 2ndary throttle valve tuning , and , reading the manual for the '71 series 2 Srombergs , it shows the restriction of these 2ndary "butterflies" to be diverting the gas and air mix through to the exhaust manifold for heating and back to the intake manifold for burning when the engine is at low speed, but "fully open" at high speed to allow for better breathing at high speeds. This is an emissions control system devised to fit new standards for imports to the US in 1971. If you gentlemen find great;y improved throttle response when you remove these secondary throttles, they must be stuck closed or not functioning as they were designed at high speed or simply not responding quickly to required acceleration demands. I can see how it would slow the throttle response . Someone mentioned "wiring" these 2ndary (in the maniflolds) throttle valves open so they could not restrict the flow. Has anyone found that solution to improve the response effectively?
