I just bought a 1957 MK1 Sedan that is very original, but has been off the road for decades. There is a securing strap in the boot on the right hand side rear behind the wheel well. Does anyone know what this was for?
I put up a picture. There is even a pad on the wheel well for what ever was there. Any thoughts?

Hi George
The jack is stored at the front of the boot on the back side of the rear seat like the MK2. I guess the forum wasn't able to include my picture. I'll try again.

Still didn't work. Anyways, the jack is not stored behind the wheel well on the MK1 and the location would not accommodate the MK1 jack. Must be for something else.

Mike it holds the jack there should be a receiver--a clip and a strap. No idea why there is a pad on the wheel well.
Mike you need to send a picture. I bet your file is too large. I know how a MK2 and 3.4 L saloon are arranged--was just going off your description.
