Dear Forum:
MY 1961 MK IX sedan was originally delivered with a 502T radiomobile unit and a hand cranked antenna assembly installed. In 1990 the radio was replaced with a modern unit, and the car was switched to negative ground.
I am re- installing the original 502T radio and it has a polarity switch option - currently with the original RED positive ground plug in place. A note on the radio says "for negative ground cars use a BLACK negative ground polarity switch" -- hmmm, radio shack does not have those in stock! Any ideas?
Also the original antenna hand crank mechanism is in place, but the internal plastic cable has stretched and does not raise the antenna any more. Im guessing its made of unobtainium - but maybe I can get lucky here... any ideas where I could get a replacement pulley / antenna mechanism?
thank you!

Radiomobile and hand cranked Antenna
As I recall, my MKIXs used something that looked like "weed eater" string? Can you measure the diameter of your stretched one?

Greg,
If you obtain a hand crank cable from UnObtainum.Inc. put an order in for me too.
Steve
It looks like weed eater string but it has bumps on it the size of BeeBees so the crank can grab it.
