2007 XJ8 VDP- The radio occasionally stops working when driving the car. It seems to be on, just no audio. If I turn the ignition off and restart the car, the radio comes back on. This happens probably on 20% of the time while driving. I tried putting a CD in when this occurs but still no sound. Help

Tom, it would be worth having a look at the electronics at the LH side of the boot. That means removing the side trim and unbolting the stack. All the items in the stack should be scrutinized for any signs of moisture getting to them. The audio in that system, including Navigation if there, is over the fibre-optic network. Moisture wreaks havoc with that system.

My dealer does not think so. I brought this up to them when we were looking for other problems which might affect the battery.

could this radio problem be your source of a battery drain?
