Excuse this description... I hope it's understandable!

After removing the radiator, I realize that the vertical support brackets (Item 1 in the drawing)that hold the core have broken away from the top and bottom of the core on both sides. It seems they were originally soldered to the rim of the "upper and lower tanks" into which water flows from the core.
I've taken this to a couple of shops in the area (one a radiator repair shop and the other a welding company) and neither wants to fool with it because of the delicate nature of applying heat in the original areas (which could result in burning a hole in the tank before the solder "takes").

Is this a "do-it-myself" project and if so, where can I get info to learn how to do this, and that failing, who (professional) might take this on?
