Thanks to Pascal for posting my article on our racing school experiences a couple of weeks ago. We encourage more JCNA'ers to come out and join us in 2004.

Warren,
Glad you liked it, you should have been there!
As for "shrinkage", I believe that is a term popularized on the TV show "Seinfeld" a few years back. Anyway, the mechanic who belted me in the car during the course told me we should feel lucky that our Formula Fords only have 4-point harnesses. When we return next year, some of us are going to drive the 2 liter cars (with wings and slicks), which have the dreaded "crotch belt" which, when tightened, gets really interesting......

Daniel,
I just finished reading your report on the three-day driving school, and find myself wishing that it had been possible for me to have joined you! Sounds like you all had the best time; maybe I can make it for the next one. Among the fascinating things I learned about from your article was "shrinkage." That's a racing term I never knew about before. Thank goodness it's not a requirement for going out on the track! ;-) (In fact, I would think it was antithetical to smoothness!) Thanks for sharing your experience -- it was the next best thing to being there!

Daniel,
I'm familiar with the Seinfeld episode -- but I don't seem to remember that it had anything to do with automobile racing ! >;->
