Jaguar Buffs:
I plan to buy my very first Jaguar this spring or summer (a present to myself on returement) and am in the throes of trying to decide--new or used and, if new or used, what type? In either case, the high end of my budget go to the mid-thirties. My needs are simple once I get past the Jaguar need. Four doors, automatic, and understated--a beautiful woman needs little or no make-up.
New?
If I look new my budget limits me, I assume to the new X-type. I just read a review by Daniel Thompson from Montreal about his recent purchase of a 2.5 liter X-type "stripper" and he has give extremely high points to his new machine. Can anyone out there confirm or his report or offer any useful caviats? Or does anyone have any thoughts on othe new options--like "for only a few thousand more you can get. . ."?
Used?
If I go used I have no idea what my best options are in terms of models. I am taruly a new kid on the block here and rather than do a lot of in-depth resarch of the reading varieaty I thought I'd try to get some advice from the horse's mouth--Jaguar fans who, I assume, have a wealth of knowledge and experience that I would never be able to acquire athrough the written word. So what would "you" buy (or suggest I buy)given the few simple criteria I listed above?
I truly hope I catch the ear of some of you who've been where I am or can empathize well enough to decide to be of help. So where's the help?
Thanks.
