Does anyone know when power steering was added to the E's and was it an extra or standard fitment?

It was an option and if you wanted to wait, it could be ordered. I for one do not like the light feel it imparts and prefer manual steering. It is not that heavy on the 6 cylinder car and does let you feel connected with the road.

I cannot recall seeing many late cars without it & how did one get the option. Here in the states the cars were purchased from dealer show rooms as opposed to Europe where they had to be ordered and the buyer had options. And unless it was for track use who wouldn't want power steering?

Available starting with the 1968 model year as an option through the 6 cylinder range. Standard with the V12 Series 3.
