I was driving from Richmond VA to Washington DC last night at around 80 miles per hour. The Jag ran low on fuel. The fuel gauge was approaching empty. The orange light started to came on and off intimately, and finally stayed on permanently. The fuel gauge register empty.
My passenger said would the car drive another 8 miles if not we could turn off the high way in a quarter of a mile and re-fuel. I chose the later, not wanting to run out of gas on I95 with an approaching blizzard.
Assuming your gauge is relatively accurate, my question is once the orange light stays on permanently on how long can you drive before you run out of petrol Does any one know?
