Noticed that my  E-type used a LOT of oil (or leaks it) . It doesn't seem to be leaking and there is no obvious oil burning, but perhaps the rings are stuck  in the grooves and cause oil loss.

250 miles at various speeds 120 miles @ highway speeds and the rest around town,  I know the consensus is we should use 50 SAE oil , but what about additives like STP or Lucas Oil Stabilizer?  I am going to try them both, but wonder if club members have tried them and prefer one to another?

On older, high mileage cars I have owned I have found that keeping the oil very clean will stop oil consumption. I think it has to do with unsticking the oil control rings. I always allow the oil to drain for a very long time and change oil after about 2,500 miles. If I go longer oil consumption goes way up. This is not Jaguar specific but it has worked well on high mileage cars I have owned such as Toyotas, Fords and Subarus.
