Greetings E type enthusiasts!
Regarding oil pressure in an e type series 1:

Is 35-40 psi at 3000rpms within the tolerance of 'acceptable' for a 4.2 engine ?

For 25 years Ive been the second owner of a lovely series one 4.2 roadster, low mileage (bought with 17K now 41K real miles)

Ive pampered it, and its brought me nuttin but joy. (And the occasional Lucas, clutch, brake, carb issues we all know and love!)

Currently at 3000-4000rpm its running between 35 and 40 psi oil pressure on the gauge. Drops ever so slightly when pulling up hill, but generally settles in at just below 40.
These gauge readings are lower than I remember/ Should I be alarmed? Is there a 'normal'?

Car pulls powerfully as always, no funny noises.

Also: does my cooling system affect oil pressure in anyway? that will be my next forum thread - the pros of a new aluminium radiator; I think its time!

thank you for any insight.
Kind regards

THOSE ARE GOOD PRESSURES, WHAT IS IT C0LD? AS THE ENGINE OIL HEATS UP IT WILL GET THINNER AND SO THE PRESSURE DROP. I'M ASSUMING YOU HAVE THE ORIGINAL RADIATOR, DO YOU THINK YOU CAN FIND A BETTER ONE? iF NEEDED, HAVE THE ORIGINAL RECORED.
