Can someone discuss reasonable ways to increase the 120 SE engine power from its 180hp to the 210hp of the XK 140/150 or even beyond.
There seem to be a variety of notions regarding different head and carb combinations.
It would be useful to focus some first-hand experience on this issue.

Mods to the XK120
Craig - you need to stop looking at the advertized HP of Jag motors. Here in CO, you would be hard pressed to get to 190 HP from an unmodified 3 carb E-Type on an engine dyno. Roadable motors are available from a number of sources ranging in HP up to about 320. Higher numbers are achievable but drivability goes down and cash outlay accelerates geometrically.

Get some 9:1 pistons and a MK IX head (2 hd8 carbs).
