I have what I beleive is a early 1951 MKVII.How do you tell if it is an early one and the year from the plate on the firewall? Also it had trafficater signals.Did 51 have this? Thanks for your help.

GP Mark your car is most likely from 1962 and yes it should have trafficators. You need to ask for a certificate from Jaguar (find the form in the library) as your engine number and car number cause a jump in my records--that could be normal but they (Jaguar) will be able to give you exact dates etc. BTW your car is powered by an XK engine so we should move this to the saloons section where more that are interested in your car might chime in!

To all regarding the numbers on my MKVII and my question on year and did it have trafficator signals.The only numbers I could find are Chasis # 732969,body # Loo7338,eng.# A 7383-8,trans # osl4513A Thanks again for all your help.
