Okay. My RHD 2.4L MK2 came to me with a single-speed motor. Near as I can determine, based upon the two spade lugs in the top cover, probably Morris Minor.
Park wire and part of the park switch gone.
110 degree wipe,

I obtained a wiper motor from a JCNA member, two speed, park switch, missing top cover and brushes.
Got those from another member, cleaned and lubed, installed.
WHOA!
Two speeds, not much difference between, but two speeds, fast and faster.
150 degrees of wipe, now the lovely bride is happy, as in the rain she can see oncoming traffic.....

Park.

Adjusts good, but parks about 6-8" up, yet the arms clap the chrome on high speed.
Not much in the way of wheelbox slop, so that's not it.
I checked the offset cam, seems to lock over to "extend" when parked, so that looks right, but who knows.

Is there a RHD and LHD arm and cam asembly?

That's question 1.

Question 2 is how the arm and cam assemble to the pin on the gear.
It went back together exactly as it came apart, but the assembly between the single speed and two-speed is totally different.
Single speed, cone spring was between cam and gear, clip on top.
Gear, spring, washer, cam, washer, clip.

Two-speed is gear, washer, cam, wobble plate, spring, washer, clip (and it's a trick to get it all together).

The "wobble plate" is a big flat washer, wrinkled in three places, fits over the heads of the rivets that hold part of the cam together, with two flats that fit over the gear shaft which has two flats to match, whereas the single speed has a round shaft all the way up with no flats.

Is that correct parts and assembly?

It's like the cam is not on "extend" for park, yet when I pulled it and looked, it was rotated to full extension.

Question 3....is that "wobble plate" supposed to be there, or is it even supposed to be "wrinkled", or just flat?

I am quite happy with overall operation.....wipers are pretty amazing, and I get the right blades (ordered) it might even be better.

Thanks!

Dave

I think George told me it sounded like the motor was running backwards.
Okay, what does THAT mean?
Try to find that information somewhere....anywhere.....even the Jaguar Factory Manual.....zip.

I found this link after a LOT of searching:

Granted, it's for an "E" type, but a Lucas motor, even addresses the cam arrangements.

Found the part on reversing the two pair (4 toatl) wires to the field...and the sweep is more to what I think it should be.
Now to get the windscreen wet and set up the "park".
