I'm having a hard time fitting a new windscreen. Two body shops have said that the rubber has no upper groove to fit the window body frame.XK's assures me I have the right seal! I know the glass installs from the inside.Do you just glue the w.s.in? MK2's use a different seal. Can someone help me out? thanks

MK1 windshield replacement help!
George, thanks for your response.I was unable to find a MK1 repair manual so I have been using a MK2 repair manual and a old Clymers MK1/MK2 manual .N13 fig.13 shows a MK2 seal cross section. The MK1 seal has a groove for the glass and chrome but no upper groove to fit the window opening flange.Does your picture show a groove for the body? Could you send me a picture of the cross section? britrepjuno.com Thanks a lot Tom

MK1 windshield replacement help!
Tom--there is a good picture of the rubber cross section on page N.8 of the repair manual for your car (section N). Does your rubber look like that?
Tom will also try to post it here!
