I've finally come to the decision to have the motor on my 70 OTS properly rebuilt. Does anyone have a good mechanic they would recommend in northern Ca? I've had work done by Steve Gordon and he is fantastic but his work is concourse quality, with the associated pricing and this is going to be a driver.
Right now it looks like British Sports Car in San Luis Obispo has what I would call fair hourly rates. Has anyone had experience with them?
Second part of the question: With a look to slightly improving performance, does anyone have experience with the Isky cam street profiles on e-types? I've heard it's the only realistic option for replacing warn cam's as new ones with original profiles are simply not available. Are there other options?
I'm sure I'll have more engine performance related questions as I work through this process. Thanks in advance for the advice!
