Hey guys, I need some help with a frozen bolt on my 96 VDP.
I am in the process of changing the front suspension bushings. Everything
is off the car except the bolt that the lower a-arms and bushings pivot on.
The bolt must come out. I have removed the nut and broke the 38mm head off
the other end. What I have left is a 15" long 5/8 dia rod that passes thru a tube in the front sub-frame. It stacks out about 2" on each end. I have tried heating, penetrating oil, big hammers with brass pins, and pneumatic hammers against the same brass pin. The thing won't move.
Has any one had this experience?
Does anyone know something I have not tried?
Does anyone know an expert I should contact?
Solving this problem is starting to occupy more and more of my time. I think the next step is sub-frame removal and press the bolt out at the shop. Iwant to avoid this if all possible.
Thanks,
