I am looking for one of the first E-types built in 1961. Specifically the car in question is # 875004, or the fourth LHD OTS (left hand drive convertible) built. It left the factory early in 1961 finished in red with a tan (?) interior. The car was shipped to Jaguar of Eastern Canada and was labelled "Jaguar Canada Show Car" according to factory records.

It may have done the dealership and show circuit in Canada in early 1961, by summer 1961 it was in the hands of Montreal based racer Norm Namerow and was raced with some success in 1961 and 1962. At that time it had a roll bar installed. The car has all the features of an early E-type including outside bonnet latches etc.

The trail ends there. Mr. Namerow passed away in the late 1960's and the car has been lost since. It was rumored that the car was discovered in the eastern U.S. in the late 1980's in very rusty condition but this is unverified.

If anyone has a lead on where this car may be found please send an email to Daniel Thompson at dthompsonatgbc.ca

I am not a dealer or speculator but simply an enthusiast seeking to keep this car in Canada.
