On our 87 vdp the evaporators are leaking, one can see fuel on the ground on hot days. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED! what do I need to do to repair the problem, I cant seem t find where the leaks are comming from any thoughts or help would be appreciated...

hi,

what 'evaporators' are you referring to? The 'evaporator' is part of the a/c system and does not produce or leak 'fuel', only water. You did not say where on the ground you are seeing the fuel, would that be under the fuel tanks on the rear of the car? If that's the case, you might have a leaking fuel Tank,
they do leak if rusted through. If the fuel seems to be coming from the Rear and Center of the car, remove the spare wheel and look at the connections for the fuel filter, and all other hose-connections in there. The fuel smell will guide you, but be careful, do not use an incandescent light, no smoking, fuel Vapors are volatile. Breathing fuel vapors is poisonous.
