Hello,

I'm a relative newbie to this forum but was hoping I could get some guidance from some of you experienced Jag owners. I recently purchased a 2001 Jag XK8 with 84,000 miles on it. It is a metallic blue convertible with an Ivory interior and blue top.

Are there any things I need to know about this year and model? I have heard there might be issues with changing transmission fluid (my transmission seems fine), belt tensioners (the previous owner replaced the serpentine belt and other belts). Anything I should be aware of or need to do to keep this beautiful car running?

Also, has anyone tried the Dr. Paintchip Color paint to take care of road rash? Any recommendations for mechanics on the Northshore (near Northbrook) for honest and reasonable service prices?

Thanks for helping me out.
