Well my 1988 H&E top (MY1987 Coupe) finally got to the point that putting it up was disgraceful. After 130K miles and several hundred ups and downs it had seen a better decade. I removed the top and carefully noted how things went together. If you think the British had a convoluted way of doing things you have never seen one of these. These were originally fitted on a jig and then transferred to the car but not having that luxury I had to worry about fit and finish in situ. After looking at several companies that offer the top for the car I settled on Kee Auto Tops (800-438-5934). I did that mostly because 2 of the other companies would have had to send my rear glass to KEE to be installed in the rear curtain anyway. The main contact at Kee was "Frankie" and she was a complete pleasure. So glass to Kee and top and rear curtain ordered I found that the well cover needed replacing and the header finisher was not exactly stock. One phone call and the originals to Kee and in a few days they sent me exact copies for use. The fit and quality are at least as good as OEM and that helped the project. While this project is not easy the product helped a lot. I shudder to think about doing this job with a poor product. So I am writing this as I rarely find a vendor that provides a product and service to this level of quality and desire to achieve customer satisfaction. Lastly the price was very competitive and in fact with the complexity of the top I am not sure how they do it. I write this only as a very satisfied customer--give them a call!
