Proposed Changes to Chapter 4
1. Objective. Following an in depth review, the Judge's Concours Rules Committee (JCRC) has approved and now presents changes to Chapter 4 of the Concours Rule Book, "Instructions and General Rules for the Entrant". Specific Entrant related information, previously found in some other parts of the book, has been consolidated in Chapter 4. Efforts are ongoing to improve the readability, and flow of information, and to avoid repeating the same guidance in different parts of the book. 3. What has changed? While the chapter content has been reformatted and reworded, there have been only minor rule changes as follow:
a. Floor Mats and Seat Covers: In keeping with current practice, specific instruction is now given requiring Entrants to remove all floor mats and seat covers in order for the Interior Judge to examine the condition, cleanliness and authenticity of the carpeting and seats.
b. Judging of small compartments: Small, covered compartments and gas cap lids shall remain closed; their interiors will not be judged. The interiors of uncovered compartments, "cubbies" and under-dash shelves are subject to judging.
c. Champion Division optional tools: If tools were optional for a given model Jaguar, they need not be displayed; however, if they are displayed, they will be subject to judging.
d. Protest procedures: A clarification is made explaining that the Protest process is intended for Entrants to question the manner in which their Entry was judged and/or the deductions made during the judging.
e. Non-Entrant questions: A method has been added for a JCNA member, non-Entrant, to ask a general or specific question, regarding the conduct of a concours or the judging process.
