Greetings,
I have a 1968 series 1.5 FHC (Left hand drive) that recently has been backfiring, sputtering and very hard to turn over. Got the engine started today and noticed two hoses that join together by means of a upper and lower attachment were separated. One line feeds from the rear of the engine block (upper attachment) and attaches to the top fixture of a black tank (roughly 12'' in length) that is affixed to the passenger fire wall. The black tank has a hose that runs into the firewall. These are located under the 2 Strom carbs but not attached to them. After joining them(the upper/lower hose by rudimentary method, The car started up fine, no sputtering, etc.I need to find what the part is and or called. I have searched SNG as well as the Haynes E type tech manual and other resources and not been able to track what the part is/called. I attached a photo of the tank(my apologies on the photo. Thanks in advance for your comments/input!
-Cheers
Gordon
